The Eilean Donnan Castles

Eilean Donan Castles, the most iconic images of Scotland was situated on an Island at the point where three great sea Lochs meet, this places are one of the most visited and important attraction in the Scottish highlands.
First inhibited around the 6th century, the castles was first built in the mid 13th century and stood guard over the lands of Kintail.the Eilean Donan partially destroyed in a jacobite uprising in 1719, but it lay ruins the best part of 200 years until Liutenant Colonel John MacRae - Gilstap bought the islands in 1911 and proceeded to restore the castles to its glory. After 20 years years of toil and labour the castles was re-opened in 1932.
Today, the castles has it own visitor centre, which includes the Ticket Office, Coffee Shop, Gift Shop, and toilets.
